Khum Khantoke


There are lot of good restaurants in Chiang Mai, but there are few restaurants that represent traditonal foods in northern stlye. Today, I would like to present you a good restaurant with northen stlye so called Khum Khantoke. "Khum" is a place for meeting or gathering and "Khantoke or toke" is the old word means the bowl that Lanna people(northern people)use for putting many kind of foods. There are many kinds of entertainments that customer can enjoy while they are eating such as Candle Dance. After finish eating, the customers can also enjoy being a part of continuing the culture and local Lanna plays with fire works and lighting up local balloons. It is believed to be a way of paying respect to the goddess of the river.
